Last week, Cater Clean 24 Seven had the pleasure of welcoming Jack, a Year 10 student, to complete his work experience placement with our team. Work experience is a valuable opportunity for young people to gain an insight into the working world. We were pleased to give Jack a varied look at how our business operates both behind the scenes and out on the road within the specialist kitchen extract and duct cleaning industry.
Learning How the Office Supports the Duct Cleaning Operation
Jack spent part of his placement at our head office, where he worked alongside our accounts department and reporting team.
This gave Jack an opportunity to see how much work goes into keeping jobs organised after our technicians have completed site visits, kitchen extract cleaning and duct cleaning works. From customer records and job information to reports, photographs and paperwork, our office teams play a key role in supporting the smooth running of Cater Clean 24 Seven.
For a specialist cleaning company, the work does not stop once a clean has been completed. Accurate reporting, clear communication and organised administration are all essential parts of the service we provide to our clients, particularly when supporting commercial kitchens with clear evidence of completed cleaning works.
Out on the Road with Our Head of Operations
Jack also spent time in London with Nick, our Head of Operations, helping to quote new jobs.
This gave him a different perspective on the business, allowing him to see how site visits are carried out and how we assess commercial kitchen extract systems before providing a quotation.
Quoting new jobs involves more than simply looking at the size of a system. Our team considers access, safety, cleaning requirements, ductwork layout, grease build-up, operational demands and any challenges that may affect the work. It was a great opportunity for Jack to see how experience, attention to detail and communication all come together during the early stages of a kitchen extract and duct cleaning project.
A Great Addition to the Team
Throughout the week, Jack was polite, enthusiastic and willing to get involved. He asked questions, listened carefully and approached each part of the placement with a positive attitude.
He also makes a lovely cup of tea, which is always a useful skill in any busy office.
Supporting the Next Generation
At Cater Clean 24 Seven, we believe it is important to support young people as they begin thinking about their future careers. Work experience placements can help students understand different roles, build confidence and see how a professional workplace operates.
We hope Jack enjoyed his time with us as much as we enjoyed having him here, and we wish him all the very best for the future.
